Iran says it arrested 8 people linked to CIA during unrest

BATTLE FOR WORLD / RT | November 27, 2019: Iran’s state media (IRNA) reported that at least eight individuals with ties to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) were arrested in Iran during protests regarding price hike for fuel.

The protesters detained “had received CIA-funded training in various countries under the cover of becoming citizen-journalists,” said Iran’s Intelligence Ministry. And that six were arrested attending street riots, “carrying out CIA orders,” while two others were nabbed as they were trying to “send information abroad.” That they all had received orders to attend protests and prepare reports, “especially videos,” Iran’s intelligence agency reported.

And Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said earlier that the protests was a “grave, extensive and very dangerous conspiracy” being fomented by the US to create discord in Iran.
