Trump Declares Nation’s Biggest Enemy Is ‘Fake News’

DAILY MAIL – June 14, 2018: The article highlights, asking if reporters are worse than dictators? Trump ramps up war with ‘fake news’ media as he calls CNN and NBC ‘our country’s biggest enemy’ right after North Korea nuke summit.

The President Trump also tweeted that ‘fake news’ is America’s ‘biggest enemy’. He passed judgment just after returning from meeting with dictator Kim Jong-un of North Korea. Trump has long-hated news outlets that he sees as unnecessarily harsh to him. He singled out CNN and NBC on Wednesday (June 13) for special scorn.  And his contentious fights with the press are a centerpiece of Trump’s public relations strategy since he has higher approval ratings. Shortly after taking office he told reporters: ‘I want to see an honest press; the public doesn’t believe you people anymore’.

The article went on to say that Trump praised the despotic Kim Jong-un and said North Korea ‘has great potential for the future.’ Not so for the political press corps. And that it was ‘so funny to watch the Fake News, especially NBC and CNN,’ Trump tweeted of the two networks he sees as most needlessly antagonistic toward his administration. ‘They are fighting hard to downplay the deal with North Korea.’
