The decision to attack Syria was made ahead of Idlib chmical incident, used as a pretext for this demonstration of strength. Only 23 Missiles From US Destroyers Reached The Targeted Syrian Airfield

“On April 7, at the time between 3:42 and 3:56 a.m. Moscow time [00:42-00:56 GMT] a massive missile attack by 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles was carried out from two destroyers of the US Navy [Ross and Porter], from the Mediterranean Sea, near the island of Crete, targeting Syrian airfield Ash Sha’irat [Homs Province]. Six MiG-23 Aircraft Destroyed In US Strike On Syrian Airfield, Runway Undamaged
RT – April 7, 2017: The strike on the Shayrat airfield in Syria’s Homs Province destroyed a material storage depot, a training facility, a canteen, six MiG-23 aircraft in repair hangars and a radar station.
The runway, taxiways and the Syrian aircraft on the parking apron remained undamaged, Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesman said in a statement. The ministry described the (US) combat efficiency of the strike as “quite poor.”
“On April 7, 2017, between 3:42am – 3:56am Moscow time, two US Navy destroyers (USS Porter and USS Ross) fired 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Shayrat airfield in Homs Province, Syria, near the Island of Crete in the Mediterranean Sea.
“According to our sources, only 23 of them reached the Syrian airbase,” Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said, adding that the points of impact of the other 36 cruise missiles remain unknown. US Syria Airstrike Like Alice In Wonderland, ‘First The Verdict, Then The Facts’
SPUTNIKNEWS – April 7, 2017: In a serious setback to the promise of an impending peace process in Syria, the United States have hit a Syrian airbase alleged to have carried out a chemical attack on a rebel held town, without any proper investigation of the incident.
Former US Congressman Dennis Kucinich, compares the US reaction to Alice in Wonderland: “There is a scene where there is a judgement taking place and someone shouts out: ‘first the verdict, then the facts!’ And this is what’s happening right now — the verdict is being rendered without an inquiry, without any effort to find out what the facts are. It’s very suspicious,” he said. And pointed out that US action in Syria is a violation of international law. “Any strike upon Syria would compound that and would violate the UN Charter…that do not provide for any excuse for aggressive warfare. Additionally, the US Congress has not authorized any military action. The President cannot establish that Syria is a threat to national security of the US,” said Kucinich.
And the former British Ambassador to Syria, Peter Ford, the real scandal is that: “…the British government no longer appears to care about terrorist groups holding stocks of chemical weapons like sarin. …It seems quite possible that the reason for the explosion was that a chemical weapons dump was bombed by the Syrian Air Force. These dangerous chemicals [are] being held by jihadi groups. …In fact, the likely explanation than the claim that the Syrian Air Force bombed with chemical weapons.
“If this is true than it’s an absolute scandal that the British government is excusing the possession by al-Qaeda-related groups of sarin!
