“According to the information received via three independent channels in Syria, the command of the so-called Free Syrian Army with assistance from the servicemen of US special operations forces is preparing a serious provocation with the use of toxic substance in Deir ez-Zor province,” Konashenkov said.
“The staffed video, after it is disseminated in the western media, should become new grounds for the US-led coalition to carry out a missile strike against Syrian state objects and to justify militants’ offensive against Syrian government troops on the eastern bank of Euphrates,” Konashenkov added.

US denies reports about preparation of provocation with chemical weapons in Syria
TASS – June 14, 2018: The US and its allies are not preparing any provocations with chemical weapons in Syria, US State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said on Wednesday (June 13).
She commented on the statement by Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov.
The Russian Defense Ministry is “falsely claiming U.S. forces and the Free Syrian Army preparing a staged chemical weapons attack in Syria,” Nauert wrote in Twitter.
“While Russia used nerve agent in Salisbury and shields Assad from accountability for repeated CW attacks in Syria, we abide by the Chemical Weapons Convention,” she said.
On Monday, Konashenkov told reporters that the militants of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) with the participation of the US special operations units are preparing a provocation involving chloride in the Syrian Deir ez-Zor province to provide an opportunity for the US-led coalition of a new attack on the country’s state facilities.

US to shell out $6.6mn for White Helmets ‘vital operations’ weeks after promising funding freeze
RT – June 14, 2018: The United States will resume funding for the controversial, militant-linked White Helmets (BattleForWorld: The group that participated in the fake chemical attack in Syria that was followed by US bombing of the country), a month after the group had its financial support frozen. And the British government vowed in May to keep money flowing to the White Helmets. UK Prime Minister Theresa May pledged last month to review the current financial package for the group, hinting at further funding down the track.
The State Department also lauded the group for saving “100,000 lives” in Syria.
President Donald Trump has authorized the US State Department, in conjunction with the United States Agency for International Development, to release $6.6 million for the “vital, life-saving operations” of the so-called Syrian Civil Defense group, known colloquially as the White Helmets, and for the UN’s International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM), a UN agency that is investigating war crimes committed during the conflict.
