DAILYMAIL – February 18, 2018: The highlight of the news is that the Stanford University project grew embryos which had sheep and human cells and that scientists are planing to implant stem cells into sheep, hoping human organs will grow. (BATTLEFORWORLD: This has already been done about two and a half decades ago.)
The first ever human-sheep hybrids are paving the way for organs to be grown in animals which can be transplanted into humans. (BATTLEFORWORLD: And yes organs and also limbs have already been grown and transplanted.)
The success of the Stanford University project could even open the door to finding a cure for type 1 diabetes by creating healthy pancreases to regulate blood sugar.
And while scientists have already developed human-pig hybrids, sparking excitement that they could use them to grow human organs, but so far publicly they haven not been able to take it to the next step.
But the scientists at Stanford University, which has already successfully transplanted pancreases into mice, has positioned itself to be the first after now that they have produced a human-sheep model to use.
