NASA Deep-Space Rocket Engine Test

SPACE – February 26, 2018:  NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket currently being tested is designed to carry humans and cargo into outer space one day on missions to the Moon, Mars and deep space.  The RS-25 engine reached the highest power level ever achieved for a space rocket, tested at the Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi on Feb. 21. The engine was taken from the former space shuttle and modified to be more powerful.
