Discovery Of ‘Fullness Gene’ Could Stop Overeating

INDEPENDENT – February 14, 2017: Scientists claim to have discovered a gene that triggers a feeling of fullness and could help prevent the urge to overeat. The gene was discovered in roundworms, which share 80 per cent of genes with humans.

Researchers from Monash University in Melbourne and the University of Copenhagen said their findings could lead to the development of a drug that reduces appetite.

The research, published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, could pave the way for an alternative method to help people stay slim, said the scientists. Link: Read Complete Article
